Player of the Year - Marcel Bäumer
9/26/2016
The Mercedes W108 platform is one with impact, no doubt about it. Long and wide, the full-size luxury sedan was built between 1965-1972 and reflects a much simpler, purer era of car manufacturing.
Without the advantages of electronic wizardry and major technical advancements, this luxury Mercedes relies on pure style and its own unique flair to evoke a luxurious feel. It’s the perfect vehicle to inject with a little modern, air sprung style, turning it into a unique ride. As soon as Marcel Bäumer rolled into Players 10, eyebrows went up, and its not surprising that the title of Player of the Year for 2016 was awarded to this build.
This year, the judging was a little different. A panel of judges, including Air Lift Performance’s very own Jeff Applegreen, voted in very tense elimination rounds to find an ultimate winner. With crowd participation and excitement buzzing, this was a great way to ensure that both show-gowers and judges agreed on a winner.
Marcel’s bagged W108 280SE 3.5 uses Air Lift Performance bags to perfect the stand and is a worthy winner of the 10th anniversary event. We can’t wait to see how the build develops next year!
