SEMA SPOTLIGHT: Keith McGill’s R35 GTR
11/11/2015
Regular visitors to the Air Lift Performance blog will already have seen our SEMA Preview post showing Keith’s wide Aimgain International GTR in progress. At SEMA Show 2015 the wraps were taken off the latest incarnation of the build and we were able to take a closer look.
While Keith may be better known for his exploits with the Oakland Raiders, this GTR shows he’s also ultra committed when it comes to building a show car. The newly released Aimgain GT Wide Body Kit for the Nissan GTR is not for the faint hearted. Comprising of front bumper, front lip, side step, rear bumper, rear spoilers, wide front and rear fender plus a unique trunk spoiler, it’s a time consuming job to mount.
The result however is certainly worth it and the kit gives the R35 an entirely new character. With more than a hint of Japanese VIP style, the Aimgain kit further enhances the Skyline’s proportions to create a beefy Japanese muscle car. However all this space in the wheel wells left Keith ample space to get creative with his choice of wheels.
The guys over at Rotiform were called in to bring Keith’s concept to reality. Body color BLQ-T centers with contrasting step lips are the result and pull together the aggressive stormtrooper theme perfectly.
A complete GTR Air Lift Performance suspension package was installed to minimize the gap from bodywork to wheel and is controlled by the all new Air Lift Performance 3H digital air management system. A custom trunk build with hard lines adds a bit of bling, while the performance suspension compliments awesome grip potential of the Skyline chassis.
