VW Transporter T5/T6 Performance Series Kit

Good things come to those who wait, and the world’s best-selling van is now Air Lift equipped! The Volkswagen T5/T6 Transporter might seem like a strange choice for tuning, but what makes this particular platform so popular is its immense versatility.

You can spec a Transporter for just about any task from the factory. Short or long wheelbase, low or high roof. You can even spec it as a minibus, double-cab or chassis truck! But there’s one more spec only Air Lift Performance can deliver; a show-ready stance while retaining the stock usability.

Not only did we want to create a solution to get the T5/T6 Transporter sitting low, we also wanted to ensure it’d be more than capable of hauling heavy loads as you’d expect from any practical van. So how exactly do you achieve both?

In the front, we’ve engineered extra-large, double-bellow air springs for all of the load support you could possibly want while retaining the ride quality you need. These air springs feature an integrated bearing and are paired with height-adjustable, monotube dampers, with 30-levels of adjustability. This set-up utilizes the factory rubber-isolated upper mount, requiring no modifications to the vehicle to install. The end result is a maximum drop of 158mm (6.2in) from the stock ride height!

With the rear kit, not only have we engineered a set of double-bellow air springs, but we’ve specifically made ‘em with the option of modular modification opportunities. What that means is, these air springs are built with an integrated adjustable piston and threaded shock body. Installation is possible without having to modify the spring seat, and it’ll give you a serious amount of lowering in the process. But if you want the lowest of low looks, simply cut the spring seat and install the air spring as shipped. Whatever option you choose, you’ll be getting at least 152mm (6.0in) of drop from stock on the rear axle.

The VW Transporter T5/T6 (2004-2019) Performance Series Kit is available with a range of Air Lift Performance air-management options, including the innovative 3H height + pressure sensing system. Air Lift Performance used a state-of-the-art 32-bit processor and advanced height + pressure algorithms to create the system. They then paired this with a full colour, Bluetooth-capable controller in order to make 3H the most advanced air management system on the market.

Installation is simple with Air Lift Performance’s detailed instruction manuals. Anyone with the skill to wire a stereo and to swap suspension components can have their car on the ground in only a matter of hours. Basic hand tools are the only things necessary to complete the job! Keep in mind that if you are looking for the ultimate low look, some modifications and fabrication will be required.

Air Lift Performance tests the components of this kit to 1 million cycles (approximately 100,000 miles) on a hydraulic test rig, in temperatures ranging from -30°F to 150°F. This test lab work, coupled with thousands of miles of on-road testing, not to mention a one-year manufacturer’s warranty, gives you a kit that you know you can count on to handle whatever the road throws down.
